The other day, I was prancing around with my pony and I happened to come across a heart rate monitor. Now, let me tell you, I have a love-hate relationship with these things. One minute, I'm all "oh, this is so cool, I can monitor my pony's heart rate and make sure he's not overexerting himself!" and the next minute I'm like "ugh, this thing is so annoying, why do I even bother?"

Anyway, let's talk about this heart rate monitor that I stumbled upon. It's pretty nifty, if I do say so myself. The monitor in question is the Polar Equine InZone Heart Rate Monitor 93039578 - Walmart.com. It looks like a big watch that you strap onto your pony's leg and it measures their heart rate while they exercise. I mean, what will they come up with next? A device that tells us how much our ponies sweat during a workout? Oh wait, I think they already have those...

Anyway, back to the Polar Equine InZone Heart Rate Monitor. It seems pretty legit, and the reviews on Walmart.com are mostly positive. It's also pretty affordable, which is always a bonus. But, as with any piece of tech, there are always downsides. Some reviewers mentioned that the monitor can be inaccurate if it's not positioned perfectly on your pony's leg, and some even said that their pony got irritated by wearing it. I mean, I can't blame them. I don't think I'd be too thrilled if I had to wear a big watch on my leg while I ran around.
All in all, heart rate monitors can be a helpful tool when it comes to exercising your pony. But, just like with anything else, you have to take the good with the bad. And if your pony really doesn't like wearing the monitor, maybe it's time to just stick with good 'ol fashioned intuition. After all, we've been working with ponies for centuries without the help of technology. Maybe we should just trust ourselves and our ponies a little bit more.
