I stumbled upon some of the most hilarious-looking coin-operated riding horses, and I can't stop laughing! These things must have been all the rage back in their heyday, but now they just look downright ridiculous. One of them even charges 25 cents now, can you imagine? Who in their right mind would pay that much to ride a mechanical horse for a few seconds?
Meet Buckaroo
First up, we have Buckaroo. This little guy only costs 10 cents to ride, which seems like a much more reasonable price to me. But let's talk about the design, shall we? Buckaroo looks like a cross between a horse and a donkey, with his long ears and squishy face. And what's with those tiny little wheels on his feet? Are they supposed to simulate galloping? I don't know about you, but the whole thing just looks awkward to me.
Thunder the Horse
Next up, we have Thunder. Now, I have to admit, Thunder looks a little more dignified than Buckaroo. But let's not forget that he charges 25 cents to ride! That's a whole two and a half dimes, folks. And what makes him so much better than Buckaroo anyway? Is it his fancy saddle? His flowing mane? All I see is a horse with a smug look on his face, like he knows he's overcharging for a ride.
Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed this little trip down memory lane with me. If anyone wants to go halvesies on a Buckaroo, let me know. We can split the 10-cent fare and take turns looking like fools on a mechanical donkey-horse.
